The Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha The Grand Palace complex is a remarkable site that contains
several magnificent buildings with a fusion of Thai, Western, and Eastern
architecture. Within the walls of the complex is Wat Phra Kaeo, or the Temple of
the Emerald Buddha. The sacred Emerald Buddha is the most revered image of the
Buddha in Thailand, and the temple has some of the finest examples of Thai
sculpture, architecture, painting, and decorative craft in the country.
